Bentec's first Top Drive in operation

Bentec Top Drive TD-500-HT

There is a considerable need for reliable top drives in the current market, particularly when you consider that more than 40% of rig down time is reportedly caused by top drive issues.

In March 2010 Bentec launched its first 500 ton Bentec Top Drive TD-500-HT. The idea was to build a new top drive that delivers robust and secure drilling operations to meet the needs of our clients.

Shortly after the launch of the new top drive, Bentec secured RAG (Rohöl-Aufsuchungs Aktiengesellschaft), an Austrian contractor, as a partner for the first deployment of TD-500-HT.

In recent weeks the Bentec Top Drive has drilled its first wells problem-free. The new features - such as the much improved pipehandler, the smoothness of the engine, and new control features - make it one of the most desirable top drives on the market.

Bentec has already gained positive feedback from the market and there are currently six other Bentec Top Drives in production for operation in Russia and Middle East, with undoubtedly more to follow. Read more
